LAHORE: (Tuesday, July 23, 2024): Punjab University Library organized training workshop in collaboration with the Archives and Libraries Wing, Government of the Punjab. On this occasion, Chief Librarian Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Secretary Archives and Libraries Zahoor Hussain, Deputy Chief Librarian Syed Saleem Abbas Zaidi, Director General of Public Libraries, Deputy Secretary, Section Officer, Chief Librarians and librarians from various parts of Punjab were present. In his address Dr Muhammad Haroon Usmani and Syed Saleem Abbas Zaidi welcomed the participants and shared valuable insights and techniques on online searching, utilizing free online resources, leveraging library resources for research purposes and innovation in public libraries. In his address, the Secretary Zahoor Hussain said that the workshop is very important to take some policy decisions to bring innovation and creativity in public libraries of Punjab. He expressed his gratitude to the PU Library for organizing such an impactful workshop and emphasized the need for continued collaboration to unlock further opportunities for public libraries. He said lauded PU Library’s team member for this wonderful continuous professional development and hope that this cooperation will further expand and bring numerous opportunities for public libraries.
