Professor Dr. Saeed Al Waleed Albaaj from Iraq Visits Centre for South Asian Studies Prof. Dr. Saeed Al Waleed Albaaj, Professor of Comparative Religions from Iraq, visited Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), University of the Punjab, Lahore on September 20, 2024. During his visit, he had an interactive session with the Students in a Seminar. He said that it was his first ever visit to the University of the Punjab and he feels excited as it is a dream come true to visit this University. Dr. Albaaj reflected on the connections made and the potential pathways for collaboration. He expressed that he is eager about the opportunities that lie ahead & look forward to working closely with CSAS to enhance academic relations. Dr. Albaaj said that he is a great lover of Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Poetry. The Director CSAS, Prof. Dr. Naheed S. Goraya thanked to the Honorable Guest and discussed about the relations between both Countries. The Director CSAS said that Pakistan-Iraq relations have historically been characterized by cooperation & both countries continue to express a desire for strong ties. Dr. Albaaj extended invitation to Dr. Goraya & Mr. Ihsan Ghani, former IG KPK & DG Intelligence Bureau (who was also present at the occassion), to visit Iraq. This interactive session facilitated thought-provoking exchange of academic ideas, paving the way for future collaborations through identifying the overlapping research interests.
