Workshop on Thesis Writing: Tips, Tools & Techniques at Department of Plant Pathology (DPP), University of the Punjab, Lahore

Department of Plant Pathology, University of the Punjab, Lahore organized a one-day training session titled “5th Research Skill Workshop on Thesis Writing: Tips, Tools & Techniques” at Seminar Hall, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore on April 29th, 2026. The workshop began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an engaging session aimed at equipping students with essential skills for effective thesis writing. The training covered key areas including literature review strategies, data management tools, thesis formatting and academic style, citation and referencing, and effective scientific writing. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Amna Shoaib, Chairperson of the department, and Dr. Waheed Akram, Assistant Professor. The trainers provided practical guidance and shared valuable insights to help participants improve the quality of their academic writing and research work. Students from the Department of Botany, University of the Punjab, the University of Education Lahore, and the Department of Chemistry, University of the Punjab also participated in the workshop, making it a diverse and collaborative learning experience. Participants actively engaged throughout the session, asking questions and gaining hands-on understanding of various tools and techniques essential for thesis preparation. They appreciated the efforts of the Department of Plant Pathology and trainers for conducting such an informative and skill-oriented workshop and expressed interest in attending similar sessions in the future.
At the end of the workshop, feedback was collected through Google Form (https://forms.gle/qHUTvdf75XTCmMLd7) , and e-certificates were provided to all participants via email.
