PU Department of Space Science organizes int’l conference LAHORE: (Thursday, November 21, 2024): Punjab University Department of Space Science hosted an enlightening session of the international conference on ‘planning in Germany and Pakistan: cross-cultural perception of urban and rural landscape and cultural heritage’. The event was jointly organized by TU Dortmund University Germany, UET Lahore, LCWU Lahore and NUST Islamabad, explored sustainable urban planning, rural development, and heritage conservation through cross-cultural perspectives. A number of experts, academics and students from both nations engaged in meaningful discussions on addressing shared global challenges. The delegation also met with Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali in his office. PU VC applauded the contributions of the delegation and assured all possible support to promote the efforts of the delegation in terms of international collaboration. PU Department of Space Science Chairman Prof Dr Syed Amer Mahmood, Prof Dr Shaker Mahmood, Prof Dr Dietwald Gruehn, Prof Tabasam Raza, Prof Komail Tayebi, Dr Bryce Lawrence, Prof Dr Atiq ur Rehman, Dr Bashirizadeh, Safiullah and Dr Muhammad Imran highlighted the significance of the theme of the conference. An interactive session regarding establishment of an early warning system by DRS4BR by Prof Dr Syed Amer Mahmood and Dr Muhamad Imran Team-Lead NatCat from NDRMF was carried out at University of the Punjab which will provide a unique platform for international delegates to connect with students and faculty, deepening the exchange of scientific knowledge and ideas. This initiative marks a milestone in fostering collaboration between Germany and Pakistan, paving the way for future innovations in planning, cultural heritage preservation and Urban-Rural resilience.
